Founding Principal
Rob Levin began his business career in 1985 as an associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department of The First Boston Corporation (now Credit Suisse First Boston).
While at First Boston, he worked on a wide variety of assignments in a broad range of industries and also spent two years as a dedicated member of the Divestiture and Exclusive Sale Group.
In 1990, he joined Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank) as a generalist in Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions where he continued to execute transactions for corporations and provide acquisition ideas and financing to private equity firms.
In 1997 he became a founding principal of Thoma Cressey Equity Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, where as part of their investment approach he began to focus on business services and the logistics industry.
In 2000, he formed Republic Partners to concentrate on providing strategic advisory, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions services to middle market companies, as well as seeking selected principal investment opportunities. He has played a principle role in a wide variety of transactions for clients including GENCO Distribution System, May Logistics Services (Code Hennessy & Simmons), Lanter Logistics, MegaSys, Chrysler Corporation, Chiquita Brands, Textron, and Harbour Group.
He graduated with an AB from Harvard University and received his Masters of Management from Northwestern's J.L Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
